About Philip J. Velez
A former bartender and Queens, New York native, Philip J. Velez has worked in the immigration field since 2011, from volunteer internships to a law school summer at the Mexican-American Legal Defense and Educational Fund in Washington, D.C., where he worked alongside Dream Act activists in the first days of DACA. After graduating from the University of Maryland, Philip went on to attend Hofstra University School of Law, graduating in 2013 and immediately began a career representing noncitizens and immigrants servicing clients all around the country from Queens, New York. Working alongside Managing Attorney, Selenia Destefani, Philip has been working at Nova Law Group since its inception in a basement, to our offices in Newark, New Jersey and Boston, Massachusetts. Philip specializes in removal defense and ‘crimmigration’ matters before, while also representing noncitizen clients before family courts all around New York State.
